Working Title
Employment & Training Specialist V (IPO)
 
Position Summary
Under direction of the WDD Deputy Director of Employment and Business Services, this position will
provide support in overseeing the new Interrupt, Predict, Organize (IPO) program. The primary role for this
position would be to develop the exit opportunities and to facilitate and coordinate the next steps for
participants who successfully complete the IPO program.
 
Major Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
• Work with public and private sector employers to develop unsubsidized employment opportunities
• Work with HSA Business Account Representatives (BARs) to develop subsidized employment
opportunities
• Work with the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) to identify WIA OJT,
WIA Youth, WIA Business Services job opportunities
• Coordinate with OEWD participants’ enrollment in appropriate Sector Academies or Ramp program
opportunities
• Work with the IPO collaborative to identify vocational exit pathways from Day 1 of program;
modify objectives as skills are acquired or barriers removed
• Engage possible trade union partners
• Develop a toolkit of public and foundation incentives to "package" to encourage employers to hire
IPO participants
• Work with HSA Public Service Trainee (PST) unit to develop alternative PST opportunities while
participants are still within program period
• Work with public housing and criminal justice partners to provide wrap around services for program
participants
• Perform other related duties as required
